Rockwall/Kaufman Outer Loop TXDOT Projects

Your HOA board recognizes the importance of banding together to address and protest the proposed Rockwall and Kaufman Outer Loop TXDOT projects. As such, we highly recommend a letter/email writing campaign from EACH of the residents of the neighborhood to both the Rockwall and Kaufman project contacts and the appropriate county officials. We are providing templates for both Rockwall County (due December 15) and Kaufman County (due Dec 20).
There is an online form that Rockwall County would like to receive these communications at located at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RCOL. Kaufman County has a PDF mailing form (see attached) they would like you to use. If you run out of space in the comment section, please staple any additional comments to that form before mailing.
We would also strongly recommend that in addition to those forms, you write/email directly to Matt Craig, (see Rockwall Outer Loop Project template attached) as well as to the Kaufman address (see Kaufman Outer Loop Project template attached). You are allowed to write as many letters/emails as you want, so we urge you to write as many times as you can – daily if possible, up to the respective due dates. The more communications that are written, the more our voices are heard!
In addition to this letter writing campaign, further actions your HOA Board has taken include:
1. Contacting an attorney to get a better idea of what can actually be done that would be impactful. We will update neighborhood as we receive feedback from him.
2. Contacting surrounding neighborhood HOA's (Thanks to Bob and Robbie for the assists) to see how we can band together to fight this. There is strength in numbers!
3. We are also trying to schedule an Outer Loop representative to speak, in the near future, on a Zoom meeting (rather than addressing it at the December 14th HOA Board Meeting) so that specific questions can be asked.
4. The HOA Board will be sending certified letters to both the Rockwall and Kaufman Outer Loop offices to officially register our protests as a neighborhood.
One of our homeowners is also compiling a list of local elected officials that we can send letters/emails to. As soon as that is completed, we will put that list on the website, the FB Group Page and blast email it to you.
The big take away for this is to work TOGETHER as a neighborhood and make our voices heard as much as possible.
